Simple Cinnamon Swirl Friendship Bread Recipe

This is a quick and easy recipe for a tasty treat that makes a great breakfast bread. If you are looking for a great recipe to make to share with a friend… this one should be at the top of your list!

What you need:

  • 1 1/3 cups of white sugar divided

  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 1 large egg, beaten

  • 1 cup milk

  •  cup vegetable oil

 

  

 

  • First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  • Next, gather all of your ingredients together.

  • Then, mix 1/3 cup sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon in a small bowl; set aside.

  • Next, get a large bowl and combine flour, remaining 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt. You will want to combine the egg, milk, and oil in a separate bowl; then, add to the flour mixture, and stir until just moistened.

  • Take 1/2 of your batter and pour it into the prepared pan. Sprinkle with 1/2 of the reserved cinnamon-sugar mixture. Repeat with the remaining batter and cinnamon-sugar mixture. To get the “marble” look in the bread, use a knife to draw a curvy line through your batter.

  • Bake it for 45-50 minutes in the oven. You will know when it is done when you are able to poke the center with a toothpick, and it comes out clean.

  • Let it cool in the pan completely before removing it to slice it. For best results, let it sit overnight wrapped in aluminum foil before slicing individual pieces.
