Help Samantha and Whitney solve their friendship problem in this Breadcrumbz Crumby Conundrum.

Lost… and Found

As Samantha and Whitney wander beneath the lush canopy of leaves, Whitney notices a cherished new item decorating Samantha’s wrist… a token gifted to her by her aunt, Rosemary Sourdough.

While admiring the bracelet, a twinkle appears in Whitney’s gaze. “What a beauty! May I try it on?” she asks, excitedly.

“Indeed, feel free,” Samantha replies, a hint of caution lacing her words. “Just handle it with care, please.”

Tenderly, Whitney slides the bracelet over her wrist, the sunlight capturing the sparkles as she rolls her arm back and forth.

While continuing down their path, Whitney spots a bloom she knows Saantha will love. While leaning in to share her discovery, Whitney doesn’t feel the bracelet slipping from her wrist into the lush, swaying grass.

Rather than looking at the flower, Samantha immediately notices Whitney;s wrist is missing the bracelet’s sparkle. Frantically, Whitney searches the tall grass, but the bracelet remains out of sight. As twilight approaches, Whitney realizes they must leave without Samantha’s beloved new accessory.

As they journey back home, a blanket of silence falls over them. Samantha tries to hold back tears, while Whitney braces herself for the upcoming challenge as the first raindrops start to fall. The quest to find the missing bracelet will have to be put on hold until the weather clears, which could take several days.

Whitney, feeling unsure and struggling to find something to say, worries about the impact on their relationship.

The Problem

Samantha trusted Whitney to borrow her special bracelet, a meaningful gift from her aunt. While Whitney was being thoughtful and kind, she accidentally lost it in the grass and didn’t notice right away. Now the bracelet is missing, time has passed, and bad weather is delaying the search.

Both girls are feeling big emotions:

Samantha feels sad and hurt because something important to her is gone.

Whitney feels worried, guilty, and unsure how to fix the situation or what to say.

This problem isn’t just about the lost bracelet; it’s about trust, responsibility, communication, and friendship during a mistake.

Your Challenge

Put yourself in Whitney and Samantha’s shoes… what would YOU do next?

Challenge Questions:
  • What should Whitney say to Samantha right now?
(Think about honesty, taking responsibility, and showing she cares.)
  • How can Whitney help fix the problem—even though the bracelet isn’t found yet?
(What actions could she take to make things right?)
  • What could Samantha say or do to express her feelings in a kind but honest way?
(How can she share her hurt without hurting Whitney back?)
  • What is a plan they can make together to solve the problem once the weather clears?
    (Think teamwork!)
  • What can both girls learn from this situation to make their friendship stronger?
(Hint: mistakes can grow friendships if handled well!)
