Family Connection Challenge

Teaching Kids the Power of Connection

Picture of families connecting and the days of the week with a challenge for each day.

Day 1: Mix It Up Monday

Activity: Bake or cook something together — even if it’s simple!
Talk about teamwork and how everyone brings something special to the table.
Breadcrumb Boost: Share one thing you love about each family member.

Day 2: Talk-It-Out Tuesday

Activity: Have dinner with no TV or phones.
Each person shares a “high” and a “low” of their day.
Breadcrumb Boost: Ask, “What’s something kind you saw someone do today?”

Day 3: Warm-Heart Wednesday

Activity: Write a thank-you note or draw a card for someone you appreciate.
Mail it or deliver it in person.
Breadcrumb Boost: Talk about how gratitude connects people.

Day 4: Thoughtful Thursday

Activity: Take a short walk together or stargaze for 10 minutes before bed.
Listen to what’s on your child’s mind — no fixing, just listening.
Breadcrumb Boost: Try saying, “Tell me more…” instead of giving advice.

Day 5: Family Fun Friday

Activity: Play a board game, have a dance party, or do some random karaoke!
Breadcrumb Boost: Celebrate cooperation over competition — cheer each other on!

Day 6: Share-the-Love Saturday

Activity: Do one small act of kindness as a family — bake for a neighbor, clean up a park, or donate toys.
Breadcrumb Boost: Ask, “How did it feel to help someone?”

Day 7: Slow-Down Sunday

Activity: Spend 15 minutes reflecting on your favorite moment of the week.
Make it your new family ritual!
Breadcrumb Boost: Write your “crumbs of connection” in a family journal.

The Breadcrumbz Reminder:

“Connection grows in the moments we share — one crumb, one smile, one kind word at a time.”
