<h6 class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="color: #0000ff;">Rachel Rye couldn&#8217;t wait to start soccer season.</span></h6>
<h6 class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="color: #0000ff;">She had brand-new cleats, a shiny water bottle, and dreams of scoring lots of goals. As she ran onto the field for her first practice, she imagined herself racing past defenders and kicking the winning goal.</span></h6>

<h6 class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="color: #0000ff;">Soccer wasn&#8217;t just about <em>her</em>.</span></h6>
<h6 class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="color: #0000ff;">It was about the team.</span></h6>
<h6 class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="color: #0000ff;">At first, Rachel wanted to be the one who scored every goal. She didn&#8217;t always pass the ball. She got frustrated when teammates made mistakes. Sometimes she even forgot to listen when the coach explained the game plan.</span></h6>
<h6 class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="color: #0000ff;">After one practice, Rachel sat on the sidelines feeling disappointed.</span></h6>
<h6 class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="color: #0000ff;">That&#8217;s when her coach sat down beside her.</span></h6>
<h6 class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="color: #0000ff;">&#8220;Rachel,&#8221; he said, &#8220;do you know what makes great teams successful?&#8221;</span></h6>
<h6 class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="color: #0000ff;">Rachel thought for a moment.</span></h6>
<h6 class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="color: #0000ff;">&#8220;Scoring goals?&#8221; she guessed.</span></h6>
<h6 class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="color: #0000ff;">The coach smiled.</span></h6>
<h6 class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="color: #0000ff;">&#8220;Working together.&#8221;</span></h6>
<h6 class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="color: #0000ff;">That simple lesson changed everything.</span></h6>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>
<h1>Cooperation Is One of the Most Important Skills Kids Can Learn</h1>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Whether children play sports, attend summer camps, participate in group activities, or simply spend time with friends, summer offers countless opportunities to practice cooperation.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Cooperation means:</p>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">listening to others,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">sharing ideas,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">taking turns,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">helping teammates,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">solving problems together,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">and working toward a common goal.</span></li>
</ul>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">These skills don&#8217;t just help children on the soccer field.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">They help children thrive in the classroom as well.</p>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>
<h1>Why Teamwork Matters for School Success</h1>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Many parents focus on preparing children academically for school, but teachers consistently emphasize another critical skill:</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">The ability to work well with others.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">In today&#8217;s classrooms, students are often expected to:</p>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">participate in group projects,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">work with partners,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">share materials,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">collaborate during activities,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">communicate respectfully,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">and solve conflicts appropriately.</span></li>
</ul>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Children who have learned cooperation skills often find it easier to:</p>
<h6 class="isSelectedEnd">✅ <span style="color: #0000ff;">make friends</span></h6>
<h6 class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="color: #0000ff;">✅ follow classroom routines</span></h6>
<h6 class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="color: #0000ff;">✅ participate in discussions</span></h6>
<h6 class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="color: #0000ff;">✅ navigate disagreements</span></h6>
<h6 class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="color: #0000ff;">✅ contribute positively to group work</span></h6>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">These social skills help create a strong foundation for academic success and emotional well-being.</p>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>
<h1>⚽ Rachel&#8217;s Teamwork Lesson</h1>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">As the season continued, Rachel began focusing less on herself and more on her teammates.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">She learned to:</p>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">pass the ball when someone else had a better shot,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">cheer for teammates when they succeed,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">encourage friends after mistakes,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">listen to her coach,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">and celebrate team victories rather than individual accomplishments.</span></li>
</ul>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Something amazing happened.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">The more Rachel focused on helping the team, the more fun she had.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">And surprisingly, she became a better player too.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Because cooperation helps everyone improve.</p>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>
<h1>☀️ Summer Is the Perfect Time to Practice Teamwork</h1>
<h6 class="isSelectedEnd">Not every child participates in organized sports, but teamwork can be practiced almost anywhere.</h6>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Try these simple summer activities:</p>
<h3>🌾 Build a Backyard Fort Together</h3>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Children must share ideas, divide responsibilities, and work toward a common goal.</p>
<h3>🎨 Create a Giant Sidewalk Chalk Mural</h3>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Kids learn to collaborate and make decisions as a group.</p>
<h3>🔍 Organize a Team Scavenger Hunt</h3>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Friends work together to solve clues and find hidden treasures.</p>
<h3>💦 Water Balloon Relay Races</h3>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Success depends on communication and cooperation rather than speed alone.</p>
<h3>🍪 Bake as a Team</h3>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Assign different jobs and encourage everyone to contribute to the final product.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Each activity provides valuable opportunities for children to practice the skills they&#8217;ll use throughout their lives.</p>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>
<h1>💛 Teaching Kids to Be Great Teammates</h1>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Parents can help children develop cooperation by encouraging them to:</p>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">listen before speaking,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">celebrate others&#8217; successes,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">share responsibilities,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">offer help when needed,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">and understand that everyone contributes differently.</span></li>
</ul>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Remind children that being a good teammate doesn&#8217;t mean being perfect.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">It means showing respect, kindness, and a willingness to work together.</p>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>

<p class="isSelectedEnd">&#8220;A team is like a loaf of bread. Every ingredient matters.&#8221;</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">This summer, encourage your child to discover the joy of teamwork.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Whether they&#8217;re playing soccer, attending camp, building a fort, or working on a family project, every cooperative experience helps them develop skills that will benefit them in school and beyond.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Because when children learn to work together, everyone rises.</p>
<p>And that&#8217;s a lesson worth practicing all summer long.</p>								</div>

									<p class="isSelectedEnd"><strong><em>Summer is filled with endless opportunities for adventure</em></strong>.</p>
<p>A bug crawling across a sidewalk.<br />A cloud shaped like a dragon.<br />A mysterious shell found on the beach.<br />A question that begins with two simple words:</p>
<h4><span style="color: #ff00ff;"> &#8220;What if?&#8221;</span></h4>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">According to PJ Pumpernickel, curiosity is one of the greatest superpowers a child can possess.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Curious kids don&#8217;t just memorize facts, they explore, investigate, imagine, and discover. They ask questions that adults sometimes overlook. They notice details others miss. They see possibilities where others see ordinary things.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">And the best part?</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Curiosity can be nurtured.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">This summer, PJ Pumpernickel is inviting kids to put down their screens, step outside, and embark on a Curiosity Quest filled with wonder, questions, and discoveries.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="color: #ff00ff;"><strong>Because every great adventure begins with curiosity.</strong></span></p>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>
<h1>🐾 Why Curiosity Matters</h1>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Curiosity is more than asking questions.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">It&#8217;s the spark that fuels learning.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Research shows that curious children are more likely to:</p>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li><span style="color: #ff00ff;">become creative problem-solvers,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #ff00ff;">develop stronger critical-thinking skills,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #ff00ff;">engage more deeply in learning,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #ff00ff;">persevere through challenges,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #ff00ff;">and retain information more effectively.</span></li>
</ul>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Curiosity helps children become active participants in their own learning rather than passive observers.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">When children are curious, they don&#8217;t need to be pushed to learn.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">They want to learn.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">And that desire to explore often leads to confidence, creativity, innovation, and independence later in life.</p>

									<p class="isSelectedEnd">Summer is often filled with sunshine, popsicles, swimming pools, and family adventures. But it can also be the perfect season to help children develop something even more valuable:</p>
<h4 class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="color: #ff6600;"><span style="color: #333333;"> </span><span style="color: #333333;">A kind heart.</span>💛</span></h4>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Whitney Wheat believes that kindness is one of the most important ingredients in friendship, family, and community. Just like a loaf of bread is made one ingredient at a time, compassionate children are shaped through small, everyday acts of caring.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">The good news?</p>
<h4><span style="color: #ff6600;">Kindness doesn&#8217;t require grand gestures.</span></h4>
<h4><span style="color: #ff6600;">A smile.</span><br /><span style="color: #ff6600;">A helping hand.</span><br /><span style="color: #ff6600;">A thoughtful note.</span><br /><span style="color: #ff6600;">A simple act of generosity.</span></h4>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">These small moments can leave a lasting impact on both the giver and the receiver.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">That&#8217;s why Whitney Wheat&#8217;s &#8220;Kindness in the Sunshine&#8221; Challenge encourages children to spread a little sunshine wherever they go this summer.</p>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>
<h1>🌻 Why Kindness Matters</h1>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">When we think about preparing children for success, we often focus on academics, sports, and achievements.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">But some of the most important life skills can&#8217;t be measured on a report card.</p>
<h5 class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="color: #ff6600;">Children who practice kindness often develop:</span></h5>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li>
<h5><span style="color: #ff6600;">stronger friendships,</span></h5>
</li>
<li>
<h5><span style="color: #ff6600;">greater empathy,</span></h5>
</li>
<li>
<h5><span style="color: #ff6600;">better communication skills,</span></h5>
</li>
<li>
<h5><span style="color: #ff6600;">emotional intelligence,</span></h5>
</li>
<li>
<h5><span style="color: #ff6600;">leadership qualities,</span></h5>
</li>
<li>
<h5><span style="color: #ff6600;">and a stronger sense of belonging.</span></h5>
</li>
</ul>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Kindness teaches children to look beyond themselves and recognize the feelings and needs of others.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">In a world that can sometimes feel disconnected, kindness helps children become connectors.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">And that&#8217;s exactly the kind of world Whitney Wheat hopes to create.</p>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>
<h1>☀️ Whitney Wheat&#8217;s Kindness in the Sunshine Challenge</h1>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Here are some simple ways kids can spread kindness all summer long.</p>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>
<h2>💌 Create Kindness Cards</h2>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Provide paper, markers, stickers, and crayons, and encourage children to make cheerful cards for:</p>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li><span style="color: #ff6600;">grandparents,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #ff6600;">neighbors,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #ff6600;">teachers,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #ff6600;">military members,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #ff6600;">nursing home residents,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #ff6600;">or friends.</span></li>
</ul>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Simple messages like:</p>
<h5 class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="color: #ff6600;">&#8220;You make people smile.&#8221;</span></h5>
<h5 class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="color: #ff6600;">&#8220;Thank you for being kind.&#8221;</span></h5>
<h5 class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="color: #ff6600;">&#8220;I hope you have a wonderful day!&#8221;</span></h5>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">can brighten someone&#8217;s entire week.</p>
<h3>What Kids Learn:</h3>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li><span style="color: #ff6600;">empathy</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #ff6600;">gratitude</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #ff6600;">thoughtfulness</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #ff6600;">communication</span></li>
</ul>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>
<h2>🚚 Deliver Refreshments to Community Helpers</h2>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">On a warm summer day, help children prepare small care bags or cold water bottles for:</p>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li><span style="color: #ff6600;">mail carriers,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #ff6600;">delivery drivers,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #ff6600;">sanitation workers,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #ff6600;">landscapers,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #ff6600;">firefighters,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #ff6600;">or police officers.</span></li>
</ul>
<h3>Whitney&#8217;s Reminder:</h3>

</ul>
<h5 class="isSelectedEnd">And let&#8217;s be honest&#8230;sharing baked goods is one of the sweetest forms of kindness there is.</h5>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>
<h2>📚 Donate Books and Toys</h2>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Help children sort through gently used books and toys they no longer use.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Encourage them to think about how another child might enjoy those items.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Donate them to:</p>

<li><span style="color: #ff6600;">responsibility</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #ff6600;">kindness habits</span></li>
</ul>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>
<h1><span style="color: #800080;">💛</span> Kindness Is a Skill That Grows with Practice</h1>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Many people think children are either naturally kind or they aren&#8217;t.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">The truth is, kindness is a skill.</p>
<h5 class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="color: #ff6600;">Like reading.</span><br /><span style="color: #ff6600;">Like riding a bike.</span><br /><span style="color: #ff6600;">Like baking bread.</span></h5>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">The more children practice kindness, the more natural it becomes.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">When kids consistently look for opportunities to help, encourage, include, and support others, they begin to develop a mindset that lasts long after childhood.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">And those habits often grow into compassionate adults who make their communities better places to live.</p>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>
<h1>🌻 Whitney Wheat Says&#8230;</h1>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">&#8220;Kindness is like sunshine; the more you share it, the brighter the world becomes.&#8221;</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">This summer, challenge your child to become a sunshine spreader.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Not because they&#8217;ll receive a reward.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Not because they&#8217;ll earn a prize.</p>
<h4 class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="color: #ff6600;">But&#8230;because helping others feel seen, valued, and cared for is one of the greatest gifts we can give.</span></h4>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">And sometimes the smallest act of kindness can create the biggest ripple.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">One smile.<br />One note.<br />One helping hand.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s how brighter communities begin.</p>								</div>

				<div class="elementor-widget-container">
									<p class="isSelectedEnd">Summer is the perfect season for kids to slow down, explore new interests, and discover something incredibly important about themselves:</p>
<h5 class="isSelectedEnd">“<strong>I can do hard things</strong>.”</h5>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">That’s exactly what Samantha Sourdough’s “I Did It!” Summer Skills Challenge is all about.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">In a world where many children are constantly comparing themselves to others online or becoming discouraged when things don’t come easily, confidence isn’t built through perfection; it’s built through practice, effort, and accomplishment.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Every time a child learns a new skill, solves a problem independently, or sticks with something challenging, their confidence quietly grows.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">And the best part?<br />Those confidence-building moments don’t need to be huge.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Sometimes confidence is:</p>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">tying shoes for the first time,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">cracking an egg independently,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">riding a bike,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">learning how to introduce themselves,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">or making a sandwich without help.</span></li>
</ul>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">To adults, these may seem like small victories.<br />To kids, they feel enormous.</p>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>
<h1> Why Confidence Matters So Much for Kids</h1>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Children with healthy confidence are more likely to:</p>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">try new things,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">recover from setbacks,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">speak up for themselves,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">build healthy friendships,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">and believe they are capable when life gets difficult.</span></li>
</ul>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Confidence helps children develop resilience&#8230;the ability to keep going even when something feels frustrating or uncomfortable.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">But here’s something important parents sometimes forget:</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd"><strong>Confidence does <em>not</em> come from constantly praising children.</strong><br /><strong>It comes from children experiencing competence.</strong></p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Kids build true self-esteem when they can say:<br />💛 “<span style="color: #800080;">I worked hard.”</span><br /><span style="color: #800080;">💛 “I figured it out.”</span><br /><span style="color: #800080;">💛 “I kept trying.”</span><br /><span style="color: #800080;">💛 “I did it.”</span></p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">That’s why Samantha Sourdough loves encouraging kids to learn practical life skills in playful, meaningful ways throughout the summer.</p>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>
<h1>☀️ Samantha Sourdough’s “I Did It!” Summer Skills Challenge</h1>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Here are some simple summer activities that help kids build independence, courage, and confidence one accomplishment at a time.</p>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>
<h2>🍋 Make Homemade Lemonade</h2>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Have kids:</p>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">squeeze lemons,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">measure ingredients,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">stir independently,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">and serve drinks to family members.</span></li>
</ul>
<h3>What Kids Learn:</h3>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li><span style="color: #800080;">responsibility</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #800080;">following directions</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #800080;">pride in accomplishment</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #800080;">independence</span></li>
</ul>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Bonus Confidence Builder:<br />Set up a tiny lemonade stand or “family café” at home.</p>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>
<h2>🚲 Learn a New Physical Skill</h2>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Encourage kids to practice:</p>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">riding a bike,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">roller skating,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">jumping rope,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">swimming,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">or learning cartwheels.</span></li>
</ul>
<h3>Samantha’s Reminder:</h3>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">“Falling is part of learning.”</p>
<h3>What Kids Learn:</h3>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li><span style="color: #800080;">persistence</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #800080;">resilience</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #800080;">bravery</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #800080;">self-trust</span></li>
</ul>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>
<h2>🍪 Bake Something Together</h2>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Samantha Sourdough believes baking is one of the best confidence-building activities for children because kids can <em>see</em> their progress unfold step-by-step.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Easy ideas:</p>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">cookies,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">pizza,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">muffins,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">or homemade bread.</span></li>
</ul>
<h3>What Kids Learn:</h3>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li><span style="color: #800080;">patience</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #800080;">sequencing</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #800080;">problem-solving</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #800080;">pride in creating something independently</span></li>
</ul>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">And yes… kids become VERY confident after pulling cookies out of the oven. 🍪</p>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>
<h2>🌱 Grow a Tiny Garden</h2>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Even a small flower pot can become an incredible confidence lesson.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Let kids:</p>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">plant seeds,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">water consistently,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">track growth,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">and care for something independently.</span></li>
</ul>
<h3>What Kids Learn:</h3>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li><span style="color: #800080;">responsibility</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #800080;">consistency</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #800080;">patience</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #800080;">nurturing skills</span></li>
</ul>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Watching something grow because <em>they cared for it</em> creates powerful self-esteem.</p>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>
<h2>🎨 Create an “I Did It!” Wall</h2>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">This might become Samantha’s favorite challenge of all.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Create a wall, poster board, or refrigerator space where kids can proudly display:</p>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">artwork,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">certificates,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">photos,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">recipes they made,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">books they finished,</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">or new skills they learned.</span></li>
</ul>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">The goal isn’t perfection.<br />The goal is progress.</p>
<h3>Why This Matters:</h3>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Children need visible reminders that growth is happening—even when they don’t notice it themselves.</p>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>
<h1>💛 Confidence Grows Slowly—And That’s Okay</h1>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">One of the biggest mistakes adults make is expecting children to feel confident <em>before</em> they try something hard.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">But confidence actually comes <em>after</em> effort.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="color: #800080;">After the wobbling.</span><br /><span style="color: #800080;">After the mistakes.</span><br /><span style="color: #800080;">After the frustration.</span><br /><span style="color: #800080;">After trying again.</span></p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">That’s why summer is such a powerful opportunity for growth. Without the pressure of grades, schedules, and packed routines, children have more space to experiment, explore, fail safely, and discover what they’re capable of.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">And those tiny “I did it!” moments?<br />They add up.</p>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>

<h1> </h1>
<h1> </h1>
<h1> </h1>
<h1>Samantha Sourdough Says…</h1>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">“<strong>Confidence isn’t about being perfect. It’s about believing you can keep learning.</strong>”</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">This summer, help your child discover the joy of accomplishing something new—not because they were forced to, but because they believed they could try.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Because someday, those small childhood victories become the foundation for bigger ones later in life.</p>
<p>And it all starts with one brave little:<br />✨ “I did it!”</p>								</div>

									<p class="isSelectedEnd">Summer is filled with opportunities for kids to run, laugh, play, and make memories, but it’s also the perfect season to help them build one of life’s most important skills: <strong>cooperation</strong>.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">In a world where many kids spend more time on screens and less time learning to work together face-to-face, simple backyard games can become powerful teaching tools. That’s why Rachel Rye loves turning ordinary summer play into exciting team adventures that help kids practice communication, patience, problem-solving, and friendship skills.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Because learning to cooperate isn’t just about winning games.<br />It’s about learning how to:</p>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li>listen to others,</li>
<li>share ideas,</li>
<li>navigate disagreements,</li>
<li>encourage teammates,</li>
<li>and work toward something together.</li>
</ul>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">And the best part?<br />Kids learn these skills best when they don’t even realize they’re learning them.</p>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>
<h2>☀️ Why Cooperative Play Matters</h2>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Many childhood activities today focus heavily on individual performance, but cooperative games teach children something equally important: <strong>how to connect</strong>.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Research continues to show that cooperative play helps children:</p>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li>build stronger social skills,</li>
<li>improve emotional regulation,</li>
<li>strengthen communication,</li>
<li>develop empathy,</li>
<li>and create healthier friendships.</li>
</ul>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">When kids work together toward a shared goal, they learn that success feels even sweeter when everyone contributes.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Rachel Rye believes teamwork is a little like baking bread&#8230;every ingredient matters, and things turn out best when everyone works together.</p>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>
<h1>🌾 Rachel Rye’s Backyard Team Challenges</h1>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Here are some easy, low-prep summer activities families can do right in their own backyard to help kids strengthen cooperation skills while having tons of fun.</p>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>
<h2>💦 Water Balloon Relay Race</h2>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Split kids into teams and have them work together to carry water balloons across the yard using towels, spoons, or even just teamwork and communication.</p>
<h3>What Kids Learn:</h3>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li>patience</li>
<li>communication</li>
<li>problem-solving</li>
<li>encouragement</li>
</ul>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Rachel Rye Tip:<br />“Working together is more important than winning!”</p>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>
<h2>🏕 Build-a-Fort Challenge</h2>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Gather blankets, pillows, pool noodles, cardboard boxes, and clothespins and challenge kids to build one giant fort together.</p>
<h3>Bonus Challenge:</h3>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Can they create:</p>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li>a reading corner,</li>
<li>a pretend restaurant,</li>
<li>or a “Breadcrumbz Clubhouse”?</li>
</ul>
<h3>What Kids Learn:</h3>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li>collaboration</li>
<li>creativity</li>
<li>compromise</li>
<li>leadership</li>
</ul>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>
<h2>🔍 Backyard Scavenger Hunt Teams</h2>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Instead of sending kids out individually, pair them into teams and give them clues they must solve together.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Ideas to find:</p>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li>something rough,</li>
<li>something shaped like a circle,</li>
<li>something buzzing,</li>
<li>something that smells sweet.</li>
</ul>
<h3>What Kids Learn:</h3>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li>listening</li>
<li>shared decision-making</li>
<li>critical thinking</li>
<li>cooperation under pressure</li>
</ul>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>
<h2>🎨 Sidewalk Chalk Mural</h2>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Give kids one giant sidewalk chalk space and ask them to create one large picture <em>together</em>.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Maybe it becomes:</p>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li>a giant bakery,</li>

<h3>What Kids Learn:</h3>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li>sharing space</li>
<li>respecting ideas</li>
<li>teamwork</li>
<li>flexibility</li>
</ul>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">And parents get adorable social media photos too. ☀️</p>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>
<h2>📖 “Pass the Story” Game</h2>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Sit in a circle and have one child begin a silly story. Every child adds one sentence before passing it to the next person.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Rachel Rye loves this game because it teaches kids to:</p>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li>listen carefully,</li>
<li>build on others’ ideas,</li>
<li>and laugh together.</li>
</ul>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">The sillier the story becomes, the better.</p>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>
<h2>🍉 Cooperation Starts with Connection</h2>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">The truth is, kids don’t automatically know how to cooperate. These skills must be practiced over time through real-life interaction, problem-solving, and play.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">That’s why unstructured outdoor play matters so much.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">When children spend time working together, navigating challenges, and creating things side by side, they’re developing the social and emotional skills that will help them succeed in friendships, classrooms, workplaces, and families later in life.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">And sometimes all it takes is:<br />☀️ a backyard,<br />🌾 a little imagination,<br />and 💛 a willingness to play together.</p>
<div contenteditable="false"><hr /></div>

<p class="isSelectedEnd">“Teamwork means nobody has to do hard things alone.”</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">This summer, challenge your kids to put down the screens, head outside, and discover just how much fun cooperation can be.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Because the best childhood memories usually aren’t made alone.</p>

									<h3 data-start="852" data-end="882">The Connection Crisis</h3><p data-start="883" data-end="1044">We live in a world that’s always “on”—constant notifications, streaming everything, and endless digital noise. Yet, somehow, we’re more disconnected than ever.</p><p data-start="1046" data-end="1253">Children are growing up in a time when relationships are often measured in “likes” and “follows.” Real, face-to-face connection—eye contact, laughter, listening, and empathy—is getting lost in the shuffle.</p><p data-start="1255" data-end="1515">That’s why, at <em data-start="1270" data-end="1287">My Crumby World</em>, we believe the most important lesson we can teach our kids isn’t just how to spell, count, or bake—it’s how to <em data-start="1400" data-end="1409">connect</em>. Because when kids learn to connect with others, they learn to understand, to empathize, and to belong.</p><hr data-start="1517" data-end="1520" /><h3 data-start="1522" data-end="1553"> Why Connection Matters</h3><p data-start="1554" data-end="1824">Connection gives kids a sense of <strong data-start="1587" data-end="1612">security and identity</strong>. It helps them build empathy, manage emotions, and form healthy friendships. Studies show that children who feel connected to their parents and peers are more resilient, more confident, and more compassionate.</p><p data-start="1826" data-end="1906">In a disconnected world, connection becomes the anchor that keeps us grounded.</p><p data-start="1908" data-end="2186">For parents, this means carving out time—not just for supervision—but for <strong data-start="1982" data-end="2004">shared experiences</strong> that build trust and joy. Whether that’s talking over dinner, taking a walk, or baking something messy together, connection grows in the moments we slow down enough to be present.</p><hr data-start="2188" data-end="2191" /><h3 data-start="2193" data-end="2227"> Connection in the Kitchen</h3><p data-start="2228" data-end="2436">The kitchen is one of the simplest, most powerful places to practice connection. It’s where stories are shared, laughter bubbles over, and lessons about patience, cooperation, and creativity come naturally.</p><p data-start="2438" data-end="2509">Here are a few ways to turn your kitchen into a connection classroom:</p><h4 data-start="2511" data-end="2553">1. <strong data-start="2519" data-end="2551">Bake Together, Talk Together</strong></h4><p data-start="2554" data-end="2670">Invite your kids into the process—mixing, measuring, kneading, and tasting. As you bake, ask open-ended questions:</p><ul data-start="2671" data-end="2810"><li data-start="2671" data-end="2703"><p data-start="2673" data-end="2703">“What made you smile today?”</p></li><li data-start="2704" data-end="2757"><p data-start="2706" data-end="2757">“What’s something you’re thankful for right now?”</p></li><li data-start="2758" data-end="2810"><p data-start="2760" data-end="2810">“Who do you think would love a treat like this?”</p></li></ul><p data-start="2812" data-end="2888">These simple questions turn baking time into meaningful conversation time.</p><h4 data-start="2890" data-end="2929">2. <strong data-start="2898" data-end="2927">Tell “Breadcrumb” Stories</strong></h4><p data-start="2930" data-end="3175">As you cook or clean, share stories about your childhood—times you failed, learned, or laughed so hard you cried. Kids love hearing about the “crumbs” of their parents’ lives, and it reminds them that connection starts with sharing who we are.</p><h4 data-start="3177" data-end="3210">3. <strong data-start="3185" data-end="3208">Cook for Connection</strong></h4><p data-start="3211" data-end="3396">Make food a way to give. Bake cookies for a neighbor, drop off bread to a friend, or pack an extra sandwich for someone in need. When kids help, they see how kindness connects people.</p><p data-start="3398" data-end="3434">As <em data-start="3401" data-end="3421">Samantha Sourdough</em> would say,</p><blockquote data-start="3435" data-end="3509"><p data-start="3437" data-end="3509">“A little dough and a lot of heart can make someone’s whole day rise.”</p></blockquote><h3 data-start="3516" data-end="3554"> Connection Beyond the Kitchen</h3><p data-start="3555" data-end="3652">While the kitchen is the heart of the home, connection grows everywhere when we’re intentional.</p><h4 data-start="3654" data-end="3689">1. <strong data-start="3662" data-end="3687">Create Family Rituals</strong></h4><p data-start="3690" data-end="3884">Rituals—like Friday pizza night, Sunday hikes, or bedtime reading—give kids something to look forward to. They send a simple but powerful message: <em data-start="3837" data-end="3882">you matter enough for this to be our thing.</em></p><h4 data-start="3886" data-end="3917">2. <strong data-start="3894" data-end="3915">Unplug to Plug In</strong></h4><p data-start="3918" data-end="4136">Choose one night a week for a “tech timeout.” Light candles, play a board game, or take a walk. The first few times might feel awkward, but soon, those unplugged moments will become your family’s most cherished ones.</p><h4 data-start="4138" data-end="4182">3. <strong data-start="4146" data-end="4180">Practice the Power of Presence</strong></h4><p data-start="4183" data-end="4394">Connection isn’t about big gestures—it’s about attention. Put your phone down when your child talks. Look them in the eyes. Listen fully. Those micro-moments of connection are what shape their emotional world.</p><h4 data-start="4396" data-end="4449">4. <strong data-start="4404" data-end="4447">Make “Kindness Missions” a Family Habit</strong></h4><p data-start="4450" data-end="4668">Challenge your family to perform small acts of kindness together, such as writing cards for teachers or cleaning up a park. Kids who learn that giving feels good are more likely to seek connection throughout their lives.</p> </div>
